Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe retired police commissioner:-
Earlier this year the outgoing Met chief Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe criticised government cuts to policing saying that the warning lights were flashing after official figures confirmed an increase in murder and knife crime.
He also warned last year of a record number of guns being seized in London saying there was an increasing number of firearms being smuggled into the UK from eastern Europe.
However one paper, this week, stated that lax security in gun shops and the trading of privately owned firearms was mainly to blame!
Yeah obviously. Because we know that all legitimate firearms (That's rifles and shotguns only, these days) can just be sold on without checks......Really? God forbid that you "forget" to inform the police if you sell a gun or worse "lose" one!
